Table 3.2 (6) shows the Couva polyclinic needing 65.5 FTE staff and 703 square metres of space including circulation, compared with 75 FTE staff and 771 square metres for the 30,000/135,000 population model. The reduction in area does not match the reduction in staff because of the need to provide a range of support spaces irrespective of the number of staff.

Table 3.2 (7) gives details of the initial staffing establishment required in each of the 57 permanently staffed health centers and polyclinics. These data have been computed on the same basis as those given in the worked example shown in Table 3.2 (6) and have been used to estimate the revenue consequences of the plan.

Table 3.2 (8) gives details of projected patient attendances at each health center and polyclinic. The assumptions underlying these projections are listed in Footnotes to Table 3.2 (8). These data also have been used as inputs to the revenue costing exercise.
